Regina International Airport to Hold Emergency Exercise

August 23, 2018

September 9, 2018

Regina Airport Authority (RAA) and its partners will host a full-scale emergency exercise on Wednesday, September 19.  This major event, which will be held between 9 am and 12 noon, will test the emergency response plans and capabilities of the airport and local partners.

The emergency exercise, which includes over 150 people, will be a simulation of an aircraft accident near the main runway.

“We will be operating a full-scale emergency exercise at the airport,” said RAA President and CEO James Bogusz. “This event will simulate a major disaster on airport property and holding the exercise helps us to continually improve procedures.”

RAA is required to hold a full-scale exercise every four years to test the emergency response plans and capabilities of the airport and local partners.

“Many different organizations will be involved in the exercise including Regina Fire, Regina Police, City Officials, Public Safety Canada, NAV Canada, Local Airlines, Saskatchewan ERS, Airport staff and volunteers,” said Bogusz.
