Regina Airport Authority Hosts Annual General Meeting and Releases 2025 Annual Report

[Regina, Saskatchewan, April 30, 2026] — This morning, the Regina Airport Authority (RAA) released the organization’s 2025 Annual Report and held the 2026 Annual General Meeting.

Hosted at the Queensbury Convention Centre, the annual general meeting saw attendees from the community, RAA staff, industry professionals, and media. President and CEO James Bogusz provided an overview of last year’s growth and future opportunities. CFO Jenna Khoury reviewed the RAA’s financial standing with keen insight into the current and projected growth.

As the RAA reflected on 2025, it was a year of establishing a new normal and casting a vision for the future growth of the airport’s capacity and infrastructure. With increasing passenger numbers and significant transborder growth, YQR Regina International Airport is gaining momentum in its mission to be a hub of economic activity and social connectivity.

2025’s biggest accomplishments included the launch of our second daily nonstop transborder service to Denver International Airport on May 15, operated by United Airlines. The focus on community investment brought YQR into the #NotInMyCity movement as an official airport ally, had us co-host a community round table with SkyWest Airlines, built the future of EMS by partnering with Riffel High School on live exercise training, and saw the celebration of our 3rd Annual Indigenous Artisan Market in the Arrivals Hall. YQR also added Halifax to its summer domestic destinations offerings operated by WestJet.

15 Wing to conduct night training this weekend in Regina

March 12, 2026 – Moose Jaw, Sask. – National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces

15 Wing will be conducting night flying training in the vicinity of Regina on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, between 8 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.

Flights will be conducted by 2 Canadian Armed Forces Flying Training School near Regina International Airport, with three CT-156 Harvard II, an advanced turboprop training aircraft. Night flying is an essential component for military pilot training, and it helps student pilots to develop their flying proficiencies. 15 Wing endeavours to be respectful and mindful of communities and will take measures to minimize potential noise impact.

All RCAF aircraft flying operations are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety and are dependent on weather and flying conditions.

The Regina Airport Authority is proud to operate a safe, secure, and efficient airport, while promoting economic development for the community we serve. We operate independently of government funding; therefore, we rely upon fees paid by passengers to help improve and maintain the infrastructure here at YQR.

Beginning June 1, 2026, the airport is updating its schedule of fees and charges.

The Passenger Facility Fee (PFF) for departing passengers from YQR will increase from $30 to $40, plus applicable taxes. The airport will maintain one of the lowest landing and terminal fees in the country, and there will be a 0% increase for airlines serving YQR.

“As southern Saskatchewan continues to grow, demand for air travel is expanding. We must ensure that our safety and security infrastructure, air service development investments and passenger experience keeps pace with demand.” James Bogusz, President and CEO of Regina Airport Authority. “By maintaining a low-cost environment for the airlines, this further encourages them to grow their capacity in southern Saskatchewan. We will continue to invest the Passenger Facility Fee on infrastructure, projects and initiatives that enhance the airport for our entire region.”

2026 Fees and Charges Press Release Dec 18 2025

The Regina Airport Authority (RAA) is pleased to announce Tyler Willox as the new Chair of the RAA Board of Directors. With Willox moving to Board Chair, Cory Furman (nominated by the City of Regina) is now the board’s Vice Chair.

Rob Vanderhooft, who has served as Board Chair since 2023, has completed a full 9 years, the maximum allowable on the airport’s board. “We are grateful for the impact Rob has had during his tenure on the Board and as Chair. Rob’s guidance and steady leadership has helped to capitalize on YQR’s incredible recovery and increased business,” says James Bogusz, President and CEO, Regina Airport Authority.

Willox is a nominee from the Province of Saskatchewan who has served on the board for 7 years. He has been the Vice Chair for the past two years and has held other Board leadership roles during his tenure.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead our exceptional Airport Board. YQR is a big part of our regional economy and will continue to play a key role in our province’s future,” said Willox.

“Tyler’s commitment to growing the Regina Airport and developing air service for our region has been exemplary,” said Bogusz. “We are thrilled to see his leadership at the helm of our Board, and have every confidence that under his guidance, we will continue to build our reputation as Saskatchewan’s best airport experience.”

RAA is also pleased to welcome newly appointed Board member Dave Pettigrew, President and CEO at Harvard Western Insurance, who joins the Board following his nomination by the City of Regina.

Today, the Regina Airport Authority released our organization’s 2024 Annual Report and held the 2025 Annual General Meeting at the Queensbury Convention Centre.

As our organization reflects on 2024, it was a year filled with growth, challenges, opportunities, and significant accomplishments. We built on the momentum of 2023 to launch new initiatives, new flights, and build new partnerships in the air and on the ground.

2024’s biggest accomplishments included the beginning of our daily, year-round, non-stop flight to Minneapolis-Saint Paul in the spring and our numerous community-based initiatives & partnerships. YQR’s biggest news of the year came in December’s announcement that United Airlines, operated by SkyWest, would be starting daily, year-round, non-stop service to Denver beginning in May 2025.

WestJet and The Regina Airport Authority are proud to announce a new weekly non-stop air service from Regina to Halifax this summer. The service, which will run from Sunday, June 29th until early September, is part of the Regina Airport Authority’s ongoing commitment to expanding air travel options for Southern Saskatchewan.

“These routes bring greater choice to our guests across the country and make it easier for Canadians to access our expanding transatlantic network from Halifax and St. John’s,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “As demand for summer travel continues to evolve, we are focused on flying people where they want to go, whether it’s reuniting with loved ones in the prairies, exploring new sights in the Maritimes or seamlessly connecting to Europe.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  The Regina Airport Authority (RAA) is announcing that on May 1, 2025, YQR will be increasing certain aeronautical fees.

The Regina Airport Authority Inc. (RAA) will be increasing its Landing Fees, General Terminal Fees, and Apron Parking Fees effective May 1, 2025. The RAA is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels of passenger travel in 2025, and revenue generated by other sources will not be enough for the RAA to keep up with the ongoing infrastructure and facility improvements needed to ensure a high-quality passenger experience. RAA’s fees are still some of the lowest in Canada.

Regina, SK:  James Bogusz, President and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority (RAA), is thrilled to announce a significant enhancement to the region’s air travel options as travellers from Regina will now enjoy a new airline with a daily non-stop flight to Denver, Colorado through United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce this new daily non-stop service to Denver,” said James Bogusz, President and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority. “This route strengthens Regina’s position as the key gateway to southern Saskatchewan and demonstrates United Airlines’ confidence in Saskatchewan’s future. With United’s extensive connections through Denver, this flight opens many new opportunities for personal and professional travel.”

The new United Express flight will be operated by SkyWest Airlines using a 50-seat jet, offering passengers a comfortable and convenient connection to Denver International Airport. Known as a major hub, Denver provides access to a vast network of connecting flights to key destinations across North America, opening new opportunities for both business and leisure travellers in southern Saskatchewan.

“The new route from Regina to Denver will connect Saskatchewan to another major hub in the United States, which will lead to increased competitiveness and economic growth for the province,” Minister of Trade and Export Development Warren Kaeding said. “I congratulate the Regina Airport Authority and SkyWest for making this new flight possible and increasing Saskatchewan’s access to the United States and beyond.”

United’s daily non-stop service to Denver is scheduled to commence in May 2025, with tickets expected to go on sale on the evening of Thursday, December 19 at United.com. Additional details regarding flight schedules and booking options will be shared in the coming months.

“We are excited to bring this new United Express flight to Regina customers,” said Cody Thomas, managing director of Market Development at SkyWest Airlines. “With just one flight from YQR, Regina passengers can easily connect to hundreds of destinations around the world on United’s global network.”
